Avoiding thrush…the unwanted Christmas present
This time of year is a high risk one for developing symptoms of thrush. Increased intake of alcohol, sugary foods and generally being run down from winter viruses can all compromise the immune system as well as, in that vulnerable state, making ambient conditions for candida overgrowth. Thrush is most likely to develop as oral thrush or vaginal thrush.
If you are prone to recurrent yeast infection, be aware of what you are eating and drinking. Try low calorie drinks and mixers, eat confectionery and cakes etc in moderation and reduce intake of yeasty foods. Eating live yogurt containing acidophilus may also keep the unwanted Christmas present of yeast infections at bay.
Happy Christmas and every good wish for the New Year to all our readers!
